IELTS Writing Part 1
In IELTS Writing Part 1, the candidate has to write a short passage. These passages are often based on charts, tables or other kinds of information.
In class, we look at how to very quickly structure and plan the composition. We practise techniques for presenting information such as grouping, comparing and contrasting. The Antipodean approach to IELTS Writing Part 1 is highly structured. We believe that our approach makes the best possible use of the available time.
Homework consists of writing IELTS Writing Part 1 compositions. They are critically assessed and discussed using our in house guidelines.
IELTS Writing Part 2
In IELTS Writing Part 2, the candidate usually has to write a composition giving their opinion of a particular statement. The composition should be 250+ words long.
Antipodean's writing programme emphasises planning and structure. We teach the all the skills that are needed (rephrasing the topic, presenting an opinion, concessionary argument etc.) and how to fit them into a logical structure.
Again, homework consists of writing compositions. They are critically assessed and discussed using our in house guidelines. A lot of work in and out of class goes in to ensuring that the student receives feedback which will enhance their IELTS performance. |
